Girls' Day 2018

Girls discover exciting careers in logistics at Girls' Day

On Girls' Day, girls broaden their career choices and learn about their individual strengths “among themselves". Kemena GmbH also uses Girls' Day to introduce young talents to the various career opportunities in the freight forwarding and logistics industry.

This year, Girl's Day was organised and run by our trainees. On 26 April 2018, eleven participants visited various stations to learn everything there is to know about warehouse logistics, vehicle scheduling, truck repairs and maintenance, navigation, tracking & tracing and much more.

„Girl's Day is an important event for us every year,“ says Alicia Jording (Head of Human Resources), „because we use this day to present our company and promote training as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk. Although the logistics industry is not fundamentally a ‚male domain‘, young people tend to receive poor advice about the actual activities involved and, in particular, the career opportunities. We want to counteract this.“
